pcappdate. It looks like another AAA title is coming to the Linux and SteamOS platforms, as Feral Interactive has just announced today that the Tomb Raider game from 2013 will be available soon, this spring.
Not long ago, rumors were flying around that the 2013 reboot of the thrilling Tomb Raider game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix might be ported to GNU/Linux operating systems, including Valve's SteamOS by Feral Interactive.
And now, it is official, Feral Interactive indeed was working hard in the last several months to port the Tomb Raider game to Linux, bringing yet another AAA title to our community.
"This spring, Linux takes the rousing leap you’ve been hoping for. We heard your requests and are pleased to present your next breath-taking adventure: Tomb Raider is making the move from Mac to Linux," said Feral Interactive on their website.
Not to create any confusion, Tomb Raider is the game from 2013, not the new Rise of the Tomb Raider title announced last year exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One gaming consoles, and released on the Windows platform at the end of January 2016.
Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game, whose main protagonist is Lara Croft. The game is presented in the third-person perspective and offers a captivating story of treasure hunting.
When it is released, the game will most probably be available for the same price as the Windows and Mac versions, for the sum of $19.99 or 19,99€ (the price varies depending on your location), and will be playable via Steam for Linux.
