pcappdate. Back in July we told you there might still be hope for the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2012) to be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Well this week we’ve come across some fresh information which indicate this will not be the case.
Artem Russakovskii of the Android Police just assured owners of the Nexus 7 (2013) that their model will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow, in case they had any doubts. However, the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2012) will not, given their advanced age.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is bound to make an official debut into the wild on September 29 during Google’s event and so are the first two devices featuring the said operating system, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.
Speaking of which, a few days ago we told you that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be making it out on the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 on October 5, at least in Canada because the information was provided by Canadian carrier TELUS.
But we currently can’t say when the same software will be making it out on the Nexus 9 or Nexus 7 (2013). We’ll just have to wait and see, but chances are the end of October will saw all Nexus models updated. Or so we hope. The Android One budget bunch should be up next to receive the update.
