pcappdate. Chinese company Gionee made its debut in India a long time ago. The OEM has already flooded the Indian market with lots of affordable Android smartphones, so it's not surprising the company has just announced the immediate availability of Pioneer P3S.
Gionee Pioneer P3S is another affordable smartphone that should offer a decent enough price / features ratio. First of all, the handset is now available for purchase in India for just Rs 5,999 ($90 / €80) outright, a new report confirms.
It's also worth mentioning customers will be able to choose from four different color options: Gold, Gray, Red and White.
The only thing that might set this one apart from other smartphones in the same price range is the fact that it comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Amigo 3.1 UI on top of it.
Go for it if you want a cheap Lollipop-powered handset
Spec-wise, the Pioneer P3S is totally unimpressive. The smartphone sports a modest 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution.
On the inside, the handset is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, possibly provided by MediaTek, and 1GB of RAM. The good news is the smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
There's also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera in the front for selfies and video calls.
When it comes to connectivity, Gionee Pioneer P3S offers both 3G HSPA+ and dual-SIM (Dual Standby mode). Additional connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS support, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
Last but not least, the Pioneer P3S is powered by 2,000 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
“The latest offering Pioneer P3S is one of its kind device which packs stunning looks with powerful technology and is yet affordable. P3S ensures that consumers don’t have to compromise on quality and features over pricing,” said Timir Baran Acharya, GM, Gionee India.
