pcappdate. The 3DS is at the top of the hardware chart in Japan once again, and this time it has managed to increase its overall sales for the week to 29,110 coming from 26,739, a solid performance for the Nintendo handheld that's boosted by a solid line-up of video games.
The PlayStation Vita is in second place for the week that ended on September 27, according to Media Create data quoted by NeoGAF, and it has managed to move 19,868 units to its own fans, a solid performance given the age of the device.
The Wii U is once again in third and has managed to increase its own numbers, reaching 18,024 coming from 16,033.
The biggest surprise of the week is the fact that the PlayStation 4 has lost half of its own sales in one week, as plenty of gamers are expecting to see Sony implement a price cut, which means that only a little over 4,000 units were sold.
The PS3 is at 2,630 and the Xbox One has sold 232 devices.
Super Mario Maker for the Wii U is the biggest selling video game of the week in Japan, delivering 52,396 copies to gamers, followed by Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS.
The rest of the top ten includes: Yo-Kai Watch Busters: Red Cat Team / White Dog Squad, Utawareru Mono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Splatoon, Genkai Tokki: Moero Crystal, Utawareru Mono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
