Sony: PlayStation VR Bundle Will Arrive with Camera and Move Controller

pcappdate. PlayStation VR has received an official launch date for October, and Sony has announced that it plans to offer the virtual reality platform for 399 dollars or Euro, making it the most affordable of the VR solutions coming this year.

The company seems to also be ready to offer a bundle that includes the PlayStation Camera, which is required for the entire system to work, and with a PlayStation Move controller, which is not needed but can enhance some of the features of the tech.

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Sony Worldwide Studios, is quoted as telling TechInsider that, "there will be a bundle in the SCEA region with Move and a Camera."

Presumably, a similar offer will be made to those who want to pick up a PlayStation VR package in Europe because it thus becomes easier for gamers to get all the pieces that they need to play with virtual reality.

The company is not talking about the price associated with the package, but it needs to be under 450 dollars or Euro to make it attractive to potential customers.

Given the fact that the PlayStation VR can only work with the PlayStation 4, it is entirely possible that a bundle that also features the home console will be announced, especially in the run-up to the major Christmas shopping period.

Many fans of Sony are wondering why the company failed to lock down all these details when it made its official announcement.

PlayStation VR will offer a Cinematic mode
Sony says that there are more than 230 developers, both big and small, who are working on video games that will use virtual reality, with already announced titles including PlayStation VR Worlds, a version of Star Wars Battlefront, and Tumble VR.

Sony is also saying that the PlayStation VR includes a Cinematic mode, which features three levels of zoom and other options that will allow players to enjoy all video games that they own on the PlayStation 4.

The same feature can be used for Netflix and for other streaming apps that work on the home console, and more core functionality for the VR platform will be revealed before launch.

The PlayStation VR is facing competition from the Oculus Rift, which is set to arrive during this month and will sell for 600 dollars or Euro, and the Vive, created by Valve and HTC, which will be delivered in April and will come with an 800 dollars or Euro price tag.
