pcappdate. The development team at CD Projekt RED might be unwilling to announce officially when it is planning to launch the Wine and Blood expansion for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, but the studio reveals a very interesting cover image for the coming content, which offers some small hints about the narrative.
The art, which was delivered via the official Twitter account of the company, shows Geralt sitting on a throne with a goblet of wine in his hand while a monster seems ready to attack him.
CD Projekt RED has not offered any details about the story of the Wine and Blood expansion, but they have confirmed that all the narrative will take place in a new region called Toussaint, which has not been affected by the war that has destroyed much of the rest of the game world.
It seems that this peaceful area, which is dominated by a powerful noble family that is hiding a terrible secret, will allow Geralt to explore a side of his personality that was not shown in the main Witcher 3 campaign.
According to the development team, the plan is to deliver enough content to keep gamers occupied for no less than 20 hours, which is quite a lot of time for an expansion for an open world title.
Wine and Blood might be launched during June
A rumor says that CD Projekt will be launching the expansion in June of this year, possibly on the seventh, to close up the Geralt saga and move on to other projects that they find more engaging.
The Season Pass for The Witcher 3 includes both Blood and Wine and Heart of Stone, which is already available, for 24.99 dollars or Euro.
CD Projekt has already said that it has no plans to continue to explore the world of Geralt in new video games so all those interested in the character would do well to pick up the expansion when it arrives.
The focus of the studio will shift to its Cyberpunk 2077 project, which has been announced for a long time but will not arrive before 2017, and they are saying that they also want to explore other interesting ideas, maybe moving into an entirely new genre.
According to the CEO, a new video game might be revealed before the end of the year, although it's unclear what kind of experience it will offer.
